Laurel Police Department investigators arrested Devante Malik Boyd (22 years of age) during the execution of a search warrant at a residence in the 4200 block of University Avenue Monday evening around 6:00.
Boyd stands charged with one count of murder is relation to the victim found at an apartment in the 100 block of West 11th Street in Laurel on July 28.
Boyd will have his initial appearance in Jones County Justice Court today at 1:00 p.m. The investigation is ongoing, according to LPD Chief Tommy Cox. Any persons with information about this or any other case are encouraged to call LPD at 601-399-4440 or Crime Stoppers at 601-428-STOP.
