A Jasper County man was taken into custody by the Jasper County Sheriff’s Department Friday and has been accused of molesting a minor in an alleged incident that occurred in early July 2020.
According to Jasper County Sheriff Randy Johnson, 46-year-old John Morgan of Paulding has been charged with molesting a 13-year-old female. Johnson explained the alleged incident took place at Morgan’s Paulding residence during the July 4th weekend, and continued Morgan and the victim’s family were friends at the time of the incident.
“The victim took the incident to her school guidance counselor in Clarke County. Clarke County (Sheriff’s Department) originally made the report and turned it over to Jasper County when they learned the alleged molestation occurred in Jasper County,” he said.
Morgan has been released from jail on a $10,000 bond set by Jasper County Justice Court Judge Sullivan Dukes, Jr.
