A local, 54-year-old homeless woman, Angela Rigney, was killed Tuesday evening, August 20th, at about 11:00 p.m. at Broadway Drive and 63rd Street. The hit and run driver has been on the loose since that time.

Hattiesburg law enforcement officials are asking for information concerning the hit-and-run fatality of a homeless woman that occurred about 11 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug.

Forrest County Coroner Butch Benedict identified the victim as Angela Rigney, 54. Hattiesburg police responded to a report of the incident at Broadway Drive and 63rd Street at 11:22 p.m.

Rigney, who was discovered in the roadway, was transported from the scene to a local hospital, where she later died from her injuries.

The vehicle that struck Rigney did not stop after the accident.
