The Hattiesburg Police Department has an active arrest warrant for aggravated assault in connection with a shooting early Tuesday that wounded a 49-year-old man.
HPD officers went to investigate a call for a man seeking treatment for a gunshot wound at a local hospital just after midnight. The shooting occurred in the 6500 block of Highway 49 at the Star Motel.
The 49-year-old patient was injured during an isolated incident that stemmed from an argument, said Ryan Moore, Public Information Officer.
Yahshua Jackson, 24, has an active arrest warrant for aggravated assault in connection with the incident.
