Today, the Forrest County Sheriff’s Office received reports of fraudulent calls from individuals claiming to be from our agency demanding they pay outstanding fines to the Internal Revenue Service or be arrested on a warrant.
These calls are from scammers attempting to gain further information about you as well as deceive individuals into paying nonexistent fines.
Do not fall victim to these scams. The IRS will never call you nor will they issue warrants for your arrest through local law enforcement agencies.
