The Jones County Sheriff's Department is investigating the stabbing death of an adult male over the weekend. The incident occurred at a residence on Ovett-Petal Road on Sunday at approximately 11:40 p.m. The 31-year-old male was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Jones County Coroners Office.
Deputies and Investigators with the Jones County Sheriff's Department responded to the scene along with EMServ Ambulance Service, Ovett Fire & Rescue, and the Jones County Coroners Office. There is no threat to area residents, and the investigation by JCSD Investigator Reuben Bishop is proceeding.
Sheriff Joe Berlin noted, "We are working this investigation diligently and will have further information to release once the facts and circumstances are determined."
