Two Purvis residents were taken into custody Friday in the 500 block of Courtney Road in Purvis in connection with the December 13 robbery of First Southern Bank on Old Hwy. 11 in Hattiesburg.
Cassidy Faith Smith and Thomas Wesley Norris were arrested by the Hattiesburg Police Department, with assistance from the Lamar County Sheriff’s Department.
Smith has been charged with robbery and tampering with evidence. Norris has been charged with tampering with evidence. Both have been booked in the Forrest County Jail.
During the robbery, witnesses said a white female came into the bank, which is located at 5248 Old Hwy. 11. The woman gave officials a note demanding money and then fled the scene.
