According to Paul Sheffield, Jones County EMA Executive Director, the National Weather Service in Jackson as moved the timing of the severe weather event for our area more into the day on Saturday. Most of Mississippi remains in the "Enhanced Risk" area. Tornadoes, widespread damaging winds and large hail are all possible with this event. NWS said some tornadoes could be strong. We will provide an update later on this afternoon.
