The Jones County Sheriff’s Office had a busy week at checkpoints across the county over the past few days.
According to JCSO Sergeant Jake Driskell, deputies nabbed Charles Couch, a convicted felon, on Tuesday night at a roadblock near Orange Drive in the Myrick area. Couch allegedly had two guns in his possession, a no-no for a convicted felon.
Couch was previously convicted for manslaughter and commercial burglary. He had another trial set for Feb. 11, and his bond has been revoked.
Robert Cruz, who was recently placed under house arrest, was allegedly found in possession of methamphetamine and heroin at a vehicle checkpoint on Thursday near Service Road and Feed Mill Road. Driskell noted that Cruz will be sent back into the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
Also this week, the JCSO apprehended Justin Agee, who is being charged in the shooting of Seneca Keyes. Keyes was shot in the right ankle in an incident about two weeks ago. Agee has been charged with aggravated assault.
All of the suspects arrested are from Jones County.
