Update 1-10-2020 According to Laurel Fire Chief Mark Nichols, the fire at Kentucky Fried Chicken yesterday was contained inside the heat duct and was quickly put out by firefighters. The restaurant sustained smoke damage and some water damage. Crews were on scene today cleaning up and making repairs. Nichols said he anticipates the restaurant will be open for business within a few days.
1-9-2020 According to initial reports, a fire currently ongoing at Kentucky Fried Chicken in Laurel may be connected to a heater that was repaired yesterday. Firefighters are on the scene. The extent of the damages is not yet known. The fire is at the Chantilly Street location. More information will be released as it comes in.
