The Paint Petal Red Prayer Project is an invitation from the Petal Area Chamber of Commerce to place red symbols on your tree, mailbox, door, business or in your yard to symbolize our standing in unity and remembering to pray over our city and nation.
Red is symbolic of the blood of Jesus and the finished works of the cross, giving us healing, salvation and deliverance.
We stand on the promises of scripture found in Exodus 12:13, "The blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you live; when I see the blood I shall pass over you and no affliction shall happen to you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt."
We also stand on the promises of Psalm 91.
Here’s How to Join Us
Use materials you have at home (please don’t go shopping for supplies) to create your red symbol. Be creative and have fun!
Here are a few ideas:
- Use Ribbon – make bows and tie to a tree, your mailbox or your front door.
- Red Cloths-Red towels, shirts or whatever cloth you have that might be red.
- Paint a red cross with your child and place it outside.
- Paint your mail box red
- Make red stripes from construction paper, food coloring, or paint to be placed at your front door entrance.
- Create a red wreath out of straw, wire, and pine cones for your front door
Once you have completed your project, post your project on Facebook, tag the Petal Area Chamber of Commerce, and use hash tag #paintpetalred. Then say a prayer for all.
