The streets of Downtown Laurel were filled, Friday, September 20 with folks of all ages enjoying a night out on the town. The Wine Down Downtown event is held each month on a Friday near the end of the month and is hosted by Laurel Main Street and the Laurel Mercantile Co. Those who wished to participate in the wine tasting were given an opportunity to taste a wide selection of wines throughout downtown at participating merchants who remained open for the event. Those who didn’t wish to participate in the wine tasting enjoyed an evening of shopping, dining at the local restaurants, and visiting with friends on the sidewalk.
The next event downtown will be the Loblolly Festival, Saturday, October 5. By Friday, October 4 there will be life-size Scarecrows lurking at businesses and local organizations throughout Laurel participating in the Scarecrow Harvest. Winners will be revealed during the Loblolly Festival.
