The Jasper County Board of Supervisors this morning approved a new ambulance provider for the county.

CareMed, based in Newton, provided the county a $125,000 a year contract quote on the service. No other ambulance providers, including current provider ASAP, bid.

The current provider contract is approximately $163,000 a year.

CareMed will begin its new service in Jasper County on November 30, 2020 at midnight.

Two brand new ambulances and a backup will be located in the county, according to company Chief Operating Officer Stan Alford.

The contract with CareMed will run for four years.
