Jones County – A rollover on I-59 just south of the airport exit had multiple agencies from Jones and Forrest counties responding Wednesday afternoon. South Jones and Moselle volunteer fire departments responded to the incident about 1:15 p.m. Upon arrival at the scene, emergency workers found an overturned white SUV off the southbound lanes of I-59.
According to witnesses, the SUV experienced failure of a rear tire and began swerving, finally rolling over before coming to a stop on its roof. The driver and sole occupant was transported to the emergency room by AAA Ambulance Service with moderate injuries.
Other responding agencies included MHP, Emserv Ambulance Service, and Rawls Springs volunteer fire department. No other injuries were reported.
