Michael Harvey

The February meeting of Sales and Marketing Professionals – Pine Belt (SMP) will feature Michael Harvey on “Interviewing for Today’s Professionals.” The meeting is Tuesday, February 12, at the Trent Lott National Center on the campus of The University of Southern Mississippi. Networking and lunch begins at 11:30 a.m. The program begins at noon. Cost for guests is $15.

Michael is the Northern Division Manager for Mississippi Power. In this role, he is responsible for all electric operations and customer service functions and represents Mississippi Power Company as a leader in the community, responsible for all external activities.

Michael joined Mississippi Power in 2001 and has held various leadership roles including Major Accounts Manager, Jackson County Area Manager, and Compliance and Support Manager for Plants Watson and Daniel. He has comprehensive technical and leadership experience with visible achievements in diverse competitive environments.

Prior to coming to Mississippi Power, Michael worked at Ingalls Shipbuilding as an Environmental Engineer, where he was responsible for managing the facility’s environmental compliance and emergency response programs.

Michael received his B.S. degree in Environmental Biology with a minor in Chemistry from The University of Southern Mississippi. He also received a Master’s Degree in Public Health with an emphasis in Occupational and Environmental Health from The University of Southern Mississippi.

Michael lends his time to numerous community affiliations as well including: Area Development Partnership, East Mississippi Business Development Corporation, United Way of Southeast Mississippi, and The University of Southern Mississippi School of Business. He is an active member of Temple Baptist Church, where he serves on the Personnel Committee and teaches a Bible fellowship class for married couples with teenagers. Michael and his wife Nicole have three daughters and live in Hattiesburg, MS.

Sales and Marketing Professionals – Pine Belt is the regional professional organization for all sales and marketing professionals in the area. All who work in the area of sales and marketing related professions are welcome to become affiliated with the professional organization. Visitors are welcome at all meetings.
