One man was taken into custody for the alleged sale of a controlled substance, and a woman was picked up on a separate charge during the drug arrest on Wednesday, May 13. That’s according to information released by the Jones County Sheriff’s Department.

Sgt. Jake Driskell and Investigator Joel Brogan of the Jones County Sheriff’s Department arrested Joseph Eaton, age 29, of Laurel and charged him for the sale of meth and possession with the intent to distribute. Driskell and Brogan found 5.3 grams of meth at Eaton’s house yesterday when they arrested him. His initial court appearance is set for Friday at 1:00 p.m. 

Bianca Shows, 27, also of Laurel, was in the house when authorities arrived. She had an MDOC warrant for her arrest for not reporting and was also picked up.
