Hattiesburg Arts Council invites you to participate in a community birdhouse contest. HAC encourages businesses, associations, youth groups, schools, individuals, carpenters, artists and designers to participate. Your birdhouse can be a traditional or original design. You may purchase an unfinished store-bought house or build the house yourself. However, HAC encourages creativity and design. Judging scores will be based on originality and creativity.
Birdhouses entered in the contest will be displayed at the Hattiesburg Cultural Center, during HAC’s “Art in the Garden” exhibit on Saturday March 23rd from 2-4pm. Participants can choose to sell their birdhouse at the event, and contest winners will be announced on Saturday March 23rd at 3pm following the presentation of Mississippi’s own, award-winning gardener, Felder Rushing.
Deadline for the delivery of birdhouses and fees ($5 per entry; limit of five) are due on Monday, March 18th or Tuesday, March 19th from 10am-5pm at the Hattiesburg Cultural Center, 723 North Main, 39401.
