Hburg Cultural Arts
In response to the pandemic and its crippling effect on the arts, The Hattiesburg Concert Association (HCA), parent organization of FestivalSouth and the Mesitersingers, is launching a major fundraising initiative called the Covid-19 Cultural Arts Emergency Relief Fund. With an estimated $500,000 immediate loss due to the pandemic, the Covid-19 Cultural Arts Emergency Relief Fund will raise funds to continue the high-quality programming the community has come to know and love.

“The HCA wants to be there for the community now and in the future” said Amanda Powell, chairwoman of the HCA. “A gift today supports that hope and helps us share relief that the arts uniquely provide during these challenging times.”

Donations may be made online at hccca.orgfestivalsouth, org, or meistersingersofms.com. Checks may be sent to the Hattiesburg Concert Association, P.O. Box 16028, Hattiesburg, MS 39404. For more information and assistance, please call 601.297.5172.

Keeping with their values of entertaining, educating and inspiring, the HCA is offering four unique fundraising events in the upcoming weeks in May. In addition to making a direct contribution, the community can engage in several ways:

  • Serenade your family, friends, and colleagues by purchasing a Quaransinger-gram to show them you are thinking of them. These phone calls that feature live performances of a musical selection of choice are a great gift for Mother’s Day

There will be three more opportunities in the month of May, each offering prizes:

  • The Couch to 5Play and FestivalSouth Jeopardy are both trivia-based with a prize for the winner.

  • The 50/50 raffle where one lucky donor will win half of all the funds donated.

More information about these will appear on our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts.

For more than 20 years, the HCA, FestivalSouth and the Meistersingers has presented community favorites, serving the Pine Belt in a wide range of programming. From Artie Events for Families, its children’s programming, to offering world-wide favorites such as Broadway hits and international stars, the HCA has been a major component of the cultural economy and is working diligently to preserve its impact into the future.

The staff of HCA’s largest project, FestivalSouth, is planning FestivalSouth Reimagined, a virtual cultural arts series throughout June, and this fund will support that initiative.
