Laurel Police Department officers arrested Latisha Norman, age 40, yesterday at a motel in town. Norman was charged with possession of a controlled substance. She is from Laurel.
According to information released by the LPD, officers responded to a welfare concern at the Econo Lodge on 16th Avenue in Laurel about 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 26. While handling the welfare matter, they allegedly discovered a couple of grams of meth amphetamine in her possession. Some paraphernalia was also found.
Bond has not been set for Norman yet. She is scheduled to appear in court Friday.
