(April 3, 2019) The suspect from a November 2018 shooting on Bush Dairy Road in Laurel is now in custody, according to information from the Jones County Sheriff's Department.
U.S. Marshalls, assisted by the Laurel Police Department, facilitated the arrest on behalf of the Jones County Sheriff's Office. Jameer "Lump" Everett, 27, of Waynesboro was taken into custody while in the parking lot of Howard Industries, where he was picking someone up.
Everett was transported to the Jones County Adult Detention Center and charged with aggravated assault and conspiracy to commit a crime. Additional charges are pending. He will make his initial appearance at Jones County Justice Court on Friday, April 5 at 1:00 p.m.
