The Jones County Sheriff's Department has today arrested Wanda Thrash, a police officer with the Ellisville Police Department. Thrash is charged with possession of narcotics, possession of paraphernalia, and resisting arrest. Other charges may be filed.
The suspect has been transported to the Jones County Adult Detention Facility and will appear before a Justice Court judge for a bond hearing in the next 24-48 hours.
Jones County Sheriff Joe Berlin noted, "There is a distinct line between right and wrong, and we will hold those who wear the badge accountable. It is regrettable that we have to announce this arrest. But, those who break the law and tarnish the badge will face the legal consequences associated with their actions."
