Twenty-three golfers teed off Wednesday morning, September 25, at the Laurel Country Club for the 1st Southeastern Baptist College Four-man Scramble Golf Tournament fundraiser.  LCC PGA Golf Professional, Jim Dorman, gave the teams their final instructions before sending them on to the course and reminded them to “Don’t forget to get your mulligans.” SBC President, Dr. Scott Carson, thanked all for participating before heading to the golf course himself.

The winning team was Magnolia State Bank with a score of 53. Each member of the team received a $100 gift certificate to the LCC Golf Shop. Magnolia State Bank team included Jeremy Wade, Lew Yoder, Greg Walters and John Diggetts.

Ellis and Walters edged out Blackwell Heating & Air for second place in a scorecard playoff with a score of 56.  Each member of the second place team received a $50 gift certificate to the LCC Golf Shop.

Russ Griffin with the Bancorp South team won the “closest-to- the-hole” and a Yeti mug.

SBC Athletic Director/Head of Recruiting Service Buddy Duke thanked all saying, “Thanks for helping us out with our first tournament.  Next year it’s going to be bigger and better.”
