A male shooting victim was taken from the scene in the 2500 block of West Seventh Street in Hattiesburg about 11:30 a.m. Sunday. However, the wound from the incident was considered an isolated shooting of self-defense.
Police officers arrived and made sure the male victim was transported from the scene to a local hospital to be treated for his injuries. Another male was taken into custody at the scene for questioning.
No charges are being filed at this time, and the investigation is ongoing.
