Hattiesburg Police are asking for help in locating a driver who struck two people – killing a girl – and apparently left the scene Saturday night.
Officers responded to a report of a possible hit-and-run near J.M. Tatum Industrial Drive and Barnes Avenue about 8:30 p.m. When they arrived on scene, they discovered a juvenile female and an adult female in the roadway.
The woman was taken to a local hospital by ambulance to be treated for her injuries. The girl was deceased at the scene.
The driver in the incident did not stop at the scene.
