After speeding past a Hattiesburg Police Department traffic stop Thursday, a 33-year-old Hub City woman crashed after a high-speed chase through town carrying drugs.

Alisa Watson was wanted on Forrest County warrants, and police officers tried to hold a traffic stop at E. Third and Main streets about 10 p.m. Watson sped off in a Toyota Camry and drove to Interstate 59.

After she drove down Hardy Street, Watson turned onto South Hutchinson Avenue, lost control of the car and wrecked into a gas main.

Watson was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance (meth), felony eluding, and being held on active warrants from Forrest County.

She was checked out by medical staff, and then transported to the Forrest County Correctional Complex.
