On Tuesday, March 19, shortly after noon, Laurel Police Department officers responded to 3rd Avenue at 17th Street in reference to a shooting.
Upon arrival officers located a male victim suffering from a single gunshot wound. The victim was transported to SCRMC for treatment. A short time later, Sgt. Joe Berlin and Officer Kenny Rogers arrested the suspect in the 2000 block of North 3rd Avenue.
The suspect arrested was Matthew Aldridge, 31 years old, who now faces one count of aggravated assault.
