The Jones County Sheriff's Department is seeking information from the public on a series of arson fires in the Moselle area over the past several weeks.
JCSD Fire Investigator Sgt. J.D. Carter notes, "We have had three structure fires which have been deemed as arson. The State Fire Marshal's Office is now offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for these fires." Sgt. Carter adds, "These arson fires put the lives of numerous volunteer firefighters in danger and destroyed property. We will pursue all leads into these fires relentlessly until the culprit(s) are captured and charged."
