On Thursday authorities apprehended the second of three Covington County Jail escapees who climbed out a skylight on Jan. 15. Another individual who was arrested with the escapee was injured in the incident, Sheriff Darrell Perkins said.
Alex Knight, 32, of Seminary was being pursued by the Covington County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force about 2:45 p.m. Thursday. He was tracked to a home on Galjour Lane in Seminary, where he and another person were captured.
Twenty-one-year-old Dillon Parr of Mount Olive was captured near Hot Coffee by deputies on Jan. 17, while Christopher Love, 30, of Hattiesburg continues to be on the loose.
Parr was being held without bond after being charged with manslaughter-heat of passion in the November 2018 shooting death of his neighbor, Christopher Hand. Hand was shot once in the upper shoulder and neck area on Nov. 13, according to reports.
Hand was rushed to the hospital, but died about 4:18 p.m. that day. His body was sent to the State Crime Lab in Pearl for an autopsy.
Parr made his initial appearance before Justice Court Judge Bobby Wayne Mooney on Nov. 14.
Perkins said Knight is facing a charge of commercial burglary. Charges against Love were not immediately available.
