Folks from all over the country have been arriving in Laurel all week for the 9th Annual PDI Reunion Saturday, October 19.  The streets surrounding PDI will begin filling up with antiques cars around 4:30 p.m. Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy food, music, and fellowship as the music from the Classix kicks off the event at 5 p.m., followed by Davis County at 6:30 p.m. Kolt Barber will take the stage at 8:15 p.m. and there will be a burn-out following his concert.

The PDI Reunion gives those who spent many a night cruising through the parking lot of the drive-in restaurant during the 60s and 70s an opportunity to meet up with “old” friends and enjoy the best hamburgers in the South from Barry and Amy Beard and the PDI crew.  According to Ken Keyes, a member of the PDI Reunion organization committee, there will be a special guest this year, R.b. “Sleepy” Coggins, who will be coming in from Washington State.  I’m sure former LPD Officer Joe Perrett will make an appearance again this year as well.

According to Keyes this year’s proceeds will go to the Laurel Police Department’s “Shop With a Cop” program and “Mission At The Cross” ministries.

The organization committee consisting of Keyes, Mickey Merrell, Jamey Cooley, Ron Jarvis, and Jackie Lynch Perkinson wish to send a big thank you this year to Community Bank for helping make the event happen.
