A Jasper County man from the Oak Bowery area has been arrested by the Jasper County Sheriff’s Department and charged for allegedly molesting a local minor.
According to Jasper County Sheriff Randy Johnson, 41-year-old Michael Waters was taken into custody by his department on Sunday, November 1. Waters was charged with molesting, possession of marijuana, and possession of a controlled substance.
“It (molesting) was reported to us on Friday, October 25, and the incident is said to have allegedly happened around that date. The family of the 16-year-old female victim came to us at the department with the complaint, and Investigator Chris Thompson began the investigation that led to his arrest,” Johnson explained Tuesday afternoon.
