A hunt for a man who ran into the woods near Moselle after crashing the vehicle he was driving is now over. Jones County Sheriff's Department deputies nabbed Timothy Austin Kitchens this evening after searching the area of Tower Road at Beeson Road after he fled from a JCSD deputy.

The subject was driving a SUV reported stolen out of Forrest County when a deputy attempted a traffic stop. A high speed pursuit ensued, and the SUV crashed out on Tower Road near Beeson Road. The SUV struck a power pole, knocking out electrical power in the area.  Kitchens then fled into the woods and a manhunt was quickly underway.

JCSD K9 Handler Deputy Derick Knight and K9 Obie tracked the subject to near 302 Beeson Road, where he surrendered. Multiple JCSD patrol, investigations and narcotics personnel participated in the manhunt.

Kitchens was transported to the Jones County Adult Detention Facility.
