UPDATE (March 4, 2020, @ 9:50 a.m.): McCormick turned himself in to the LPD last night. He will appear in Laurel municipal Court today. Shannon is still wanted.
(March 3, 2020, Original Story): Two suspects have been arrested and charged in connection with an allegation of aggravated assault. According to Laurel Police Department Chief Tommy Cox, I’Jerrius Nixon (age 22) and Michael E. Page Jr. (age 18) have both been charged in the incident that LPD officers were called to on Wednesday, Feb. 26 just before 3:00 p.m. On that day, officers responded to a call in the area of Johnson Drive. Officers located a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to SCRMC for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Nixon is charged with aggravated assault. He is currently being held in the Jones County Jail as a bond for a previous armed robbery charge through the Ellisville Police Department was revoked.
Page Jr. is charged with accessory before the fact of aggravated assault. His bond was set at $15,000.
Two other suspects are currently still wanted in connection to the incident. Deaundjre Shannon, a 20-year-old black male, is wanted for aggravated assault. Quinton McCormick, also a 20-year-old black male, is likewise wanted for aggravated assault.
