Andrew McKenzie West, 20, and Brandon Colby Lee, 26, and were arrested and charged with several violations.

Petal Police Department officers knocked on a West Fifth Avenue door Tuesday to serve an arrest warrant and found more than a pound of methamphetamine, paraphernalia, and other drugs.

The discovery led to the arrests of Andrew McKenzie West, 20, and Brandon Colby Lee, 26, and several charges. Both received bonds of $40,000 for drug trafficking, two counts of possession of marijuana with $3,000 bond each, and Lee was also charged with false information or identification to law enforcement officer (another $1,500 bond).

Petal police Lt. Casey Walley said the drug materials were not hidden.

“When we went to execute a warrant, the officers made contact,” he said. “Everything was just in plain view when they when they went into the residence there.”

Walley said the officers discovered 561 grams of meth and also marijuana inside the home.

Both men were booked into the Forrest County Jail and had their initial court appearances Wednesday.
