Hattiesburg’s 10th city employee tested positive for COVID-19 in the fire department last Friday and has not been in work since then.

The employee was connected to a case from last Wednesday’s notice, when the employee and another five were tested as indirect exposures to the June 17 case. Two tests came back negative and the other three are self-isolated at home until their tests are complete.

Nine employees have been traced as indirect exposure cases along with the latest employee since March 11. The nine workers will be tested and continue to wear protective equipment at work.
