Laurel, MS – Shady Grove and Sharon volunteer fire departments responded to 1819 Parker Drive to a structure fire about 9:45 p.m. Wednesday evening. Henry Johnson was sleeping in his home when he was awakened suddenly by a loud noise and discovered flames in his home. Johnson was unable to extinguish the fire himself. Upon arrival of the first responding fire apparatus, the wood home was found fully involved. The fire damaged the structure extensively.
Emserv Ambulance Service transported one patient with minor injuries to the emergency room. No other injuries were reported. Other agencies on scene included Laurel Police Department, Laurel Fire Department and the Jones County Sheriff’s Office.
