A 19-year-old Hattiesburg man was arrested Monday on domestic violence and child abuse charges after he rammed his vehicle into his girlfriend’s vehicle, which contained her two children.
Oliver Lewis Jr. was arrested at the intersection of Putnam Avenue and South Tipton Street about 2:45 p.m. Monday after police discovered a domestic violence situation in progress. All three victims received minor injuries during the incident because of broken glass.
Lewis has been charged with domestic violence-aggravated assault and two counts of felony child abuse in relation to the incident. He was booked into the Forrest County Jail and the investigation is still ongoing.
