The suspect in a Saturday shooting in the Hub City’s Katie Avenue area has been identified by Hattiesburg Police officers, and the investigation into the incident is still under investigation.
Kenzell Blakely, 20, of Hattiesburg was injured as another individual was apparently trying to defend himself. A local hospital had called Hattiesburg Police about a person getting treatment for a gunshot wound.
Blakely was the hospital patient who was determined to be the suspect who started the shooting incident. He was treated for a gunshot wound that did not cause a life-threatening injury.
Another person, Bedricka Moffett, is wanted for questioning by Hattiesburg Police in reference to the incident.
