Jones County – On Tuesday, November 19 at almost 10:00 p.m., several Jones County volunteer fire departments responded to the report of a motor vehicle collision at Highway 84 East at Masonite Lake Road. Glade, M & M, and Powers volunteer fire departments responded to the scene and found an 18-wheeler and a four-door Dodge pickup in the median.
Two adults, passengers in the pickup, were transported to the emergency room with injuries that were not life-threatening. The driver of the 18-wheeler declined emergency medical care. One eastbound lane of Highway 84 was closed for a short time while the scene was cleared.
MHP and Emserv were also on scene. No other injuries were reported.
The following day, November 20, Glade and Powers volunteer fire departments responded to another collision at Bush Road and Township in the Glade community. The collision occurred at about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon after a motorist attempted to cross Township while traveling on Bush Road. Both vehicles sustained major damage.
One of the drivers was transported to the emergency department with injuries that were not life-threatening and the other had minor injuries but declined transport to the emergency room.
Emserv Ambulance Service and Jones County Sheriff’s Office were also on scene.
