Forrest County Sheriff’s Deputies and their K9 partner - along with the Rankin County Sheriff's Office - seized more than 20 pounds of marijuana Tuesday following a traffic stop that led to the arrest a 32-year-old New Orleans woman.

Claudia Rivera was charged with Trafficking a Controlled Substance-Marijuana. She was transported and booked into the Forrest County Correctional Facility, according to Scott Lees, Forrest County Public Information Officer.
“K9s are vital to the apprehension of those trafficking illegal drugs to and through our community,” Sheriff Charlie Sims said. “This arrest is a prime example of their exceptional capabilities and service.”
