Incumbent District 3 Supervisor Burkett Ross retained his Forrest County seat Wednesday after he got the votes he needed in the affidavit ballots.
Burkett Ross wins re-election after affidavit ballots are counted.
As of Tuesday night after precinct boxes were counted, Ross had 49.99 percent of the vote against challenger Steve Stringer in the two-man Republican primary. A three-vote deficit forced a runoff.
However, Ross was declared the winner with 2,224 votes to Stringer's 2,210 votes.
Because no Independent or Democratic candidates are seeking the seat, Ross will run unopposed in November's general election.
