Last Monday, August 10, at approximately 1:37 p.m., Laurel Police Department officers responded to the 800 block of West 12th Street in Laurel on a shooting complaint. A single victim was transported by private vehicle to SCRMC for treatment.
The LPD reported today that the victim is recovering nicely at a Jackson area hospital. Anthony D. Jones (21 years of age) is charged with one count of drive-by shooting and one count of aggravated assault.
Erica King (age 37) is charged with one count of accessory to drive-by shooting and one count of accessory to aggravated assault. Both suspects will have their initial appearance in Laurel Municipal Court today. The investigation is ongoing, and more arrests are possible.
