A woman who was found along U.S. Hwy. 49 South near Camp Shelby’s South Gate was transported to a local hospital, according to Mississippi Highway Patrol officials.
Sgt. Travis Luck, Mississippi Highway Patrol spokesman for Troop J in Hattiesburg, said officers answered the call Wednesday afternoon.
“Troopers were dispatched to a woman on the shoulder of U.S. 49 in distress needing medical attention,” he said. “She was transported by ambulance to Forrest General Hospital.”
Luck said no further information was available at this time.
Earlier reports said the woman was in the median of the highway.
