Front Street, in front of the Laurel Mercantile in downtown Laurel, was filled with basketball players of all ages on Saturday, February 29 for the Laurel Main Street’s first 3-on-3 basketball tournament – Laurel Leap Day Tournament.
Out of 19 teams, Team TTG with Rickey Holden, Jeremy Henley, Taurean Wilbon, Raekwon Pettis and Kentavious Rogers took the first place trophy and $500 after winning five games straight. Team Hands Down Man Down took second place and $200, and team Bad Boys took third place and $100.
By the end of the day, there were a lot of sore muscles, scraped knees and elbows, and shattered pride, but it appeared all were having a good time.
