After taking the Oath of Office, Ward 6 Councilwoman Grace Amos addressed those gathered for the ceremony saying, “I want to thank God for keeping myself and my opponents, Benjamin Winpigler and Ira Martin safe during our campaigning. Both ran a good race. I want to thank the voters who supported all of us, because voting is imperative to the success of the city of Laurel and Jones County. I also want to commend my team for the awesome job they did. Thanks to City Clerk Ann Hess and her staff for assisting me with needed answers. I am excited and ready to work with Mayor Magee and the other six councilmen and represent Ward 6.” Photo/Linda Cranford
