Monday, June 15, the Ellis Club, a non-profit organization based in Ellisville, met for the first time since their Charity Gala in February due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Each year the club chooses a charity as the beneficiary of their gala, and this year they chose The Dream Center in Ellisville.  Monday night, the club presented a $10,000 check to Jonathan Celoria, director of The Dream Center. Richard Webb, who is the cook for The Dream Center, was also on hand during the presentation of the check.Â
The Dream Center is supported by local churches as well as the Ellis Club and serves meals at the Roosevelt Center on Tuesday nights.
The Ellis Club is only two years old and is very active. They serve the Ellisville community in several ways, including hosting the Christmas Tree Lighting in downtown Ellisville, providing supplies and snacks for the North Street Mission, serving meals at The Dream Center, funding the potted plant project in downtown Ellisville, and throughout the year award a few scholarships.
