Charles ‘Charlie’ T. Curtis, 80, of Raleigh, Mississippi, died Wednesday, April 24, 2019, at his residence in Raleigh, Mississippi. He was born Thursday, February 2, 1939, in Smith County, Mississippi.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 26, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Liberty Baptist Church in Raleigh, MS. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, April 27, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Liberty Baptist Church and the Burial will follow in Liberty (Beezer) Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Norris Ables will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Raleigh is in charge of arrangements.
Charlie was a member of Raleigh Church of God. He pastored many churches and also had a radio program in Florida and many outreach ministries. He served 4 years in the Air Force. He also worked at Cal Main Foods and then the Raleigh Company for 19 years, then worked as security guard for Georgia Pacific for 11 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer Curtis and Essie Sullivan Curtis, son, John Thomas Curtis, brother, John G. Curtis, sister, Carrie Curtis Hull.
Survivors include wife of 55 years, Mary Alice Curtis, sons; Tom Curtis (Michelle), Lane Curtis (Kim), sisters; Bennie Jinright (Howard), Betty Houston (Floyd) and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Curtis, Ronnie Curtis, Melvin Traxler, Rodney Hannah, Jerry Fields, and Jeff Blakeney.
