Mayor Lynn Buckhaults and other members of the Ellisville Park and Playground Committee were busy working on getting the first phase of the playground company representative, holes were being strategically dug to install the new playground equipment.
A walking track so parents can walk while the children play will also be installed. The plan is to have a playground area for 2-4 year olds and another for 5-12 year olds. Plans also include benches, picnic tables, a pavilion and a splash pad. All will be built and installed in three phases as money is received, according to Buckhaults.
Enough money has been received to start phase one, but before phase two can begin, more money will have to be raised. The total project is estimated to cost between $150 – 200,000.00.
Anyone interested in making a contribution to the project may contact Ellisville City Clerk Charma Cook at 601-477-3323.
