Hattiesburg police are also seeking help in trying to locate a black male wearing a dark-colored hoodie and shorts who ran from a Dollar General in the 1200 block of Edward Street after demanding money.

Graffiti and heavy damage was left behind after someone broke into Vikki Layne’s business in the 100 block of Walnut Street just before 3 p.m. Monday, Sept. 30.

When Hattiesburg police officers arrived, they discovered the business was broken into, and heavily damaged on the inside, along with graffiti. An investigation is underway.

In another incident from the weekend, Hattiesburg police are also seeking help in trying to locate a black male wearing a dark-colored hoodie and shorts who ran from a Dollar General after demanding money.

Police were called to the scene at the Dollar General in the 1200 block of Edward Street about 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27, after an armed robbery was reported. The suspect failed to take anything from the store and fled the scene empty-handed.
