The Jones County FEMA-361 Saferoom @ 1425 Ellisville Blvd, Laurel MS 39440, will open to the public at 6pm CST this evening for anyone seeking a safer place to be during the threats associated with Tropical Storm / Hurricane Zeta.
5pm-2am Jones County is under a limited to elevated threat of anywhere from 30mph to 60 mph gusts, downed trees & power lines, and the potential for power outages.
Anyone using generators should exercise safest practices.
Avoid carbon monoxide poisoning. Generators, camp stoves, or charcoal grills should always be used outdoors and at least 20 feet away from windows.
