Zachary Little was just 11 years old when the Little Family lost him to a brain cancer that affects children called Medulloblastoma.

“Zachary loved life. He enjoyed life. He lived life. And we want to share that with everybody – who he was – that’s why we ride and walk in his memory.,” Zachary’s mom, Mary Ann, said.

Mary Ann and Edward Little, Zachary’s parents, along with his brothers Ryan and Chase, wanted to honor Zachary’s memory by establishing the “Zachary Little Memorial Fund” through the Pinebelt Foundation.

Each year the family hosts a memorial ride and 5K beginning in Sumrall along the Long Leaf Trace. This year’s event is on September 15th. Registration will start at 7 a.m., with the bike ride beginning at 8 a.m. and the 5k starting at 8:10 a.m. The entry fee is $25. Register online at zachlittleride.com.

This year Jed’s Perfect Endurance Bikes is raffling off a new 2018 Diverge – size 56cm bike in candy red. Tickets are $5 or 5 for $20 and can be purchased at the race or at the store before the 15th.

Money raised from the Zachary Little Memorial Ride and 5K benefits the following organizations: St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, Blair E. Batson Children’s Hospital, Catch a Dream Foundation and Sumrall High School.

The Pinebelt Foundation, a 501(c)(3), manages charitable funds set up by donors who want to leave a legacy and make a difference in the Pine Belt area. For more information how the Pinebelt Foundation can be your charitable partner visit www.PineBeltFoundation.org.
